It’s Been a Long Summer!

If you follow this blog, you haven’t seen a new post since May. Somehow five months passed and October has crept up on us. Summer is over, which means the high cheese season is getting ready to hit full swing.

I am sorry for not posting in so long. There have been plenty of topics on my idea board waiting to become blog posts. With no lack of ideas, the only excuse I have is a lack of bandwidth.

This spring/summer/early fall, I:

  • Renovated our downstairs bathroom;
  • Maintained the monthly meet-up schedule for a group of local cheesemongers and cheese lovers;
  • Moved 30 years’ worth of my parents’ stuff (and my parents) over 2,000 miles out of my childhood home and on to a new adventure;
  • Got married;
  • Taught a number of cheese classes;
  • Threw a wedding reception party;
  • Set up and opened the cheese shop in a new location of my co-op;
  • And flew to Wisconsin for the Cheesemonger Invitational winners’ trip.

For the record, there was a gorgeous cheese platter at my bachelorette party.

I’m still in Wisconsin, and I’ll have plenty of things to say about my trip in an upcoming post.

I hope you’ll be there to see what new things I have to say, dear reader. ♥

    Hi Courtney!

    I wondered where you were. WOW!!! You’ve really been busy! CONGRATULATIONS on your marriage 🙂

    My wife, Nancy, and I visited the new PCC in West Seattle yesterday (9 October) — it’s HUGE! Especially the cheese department. Will you be working there, now, instead of Burien? If so, does that mean I won’t see you at the Parmesan Cheese Cracking Party @ 5:30 p.m. on October 23rd?

    Lastly, Nancy and I are actively looking to find a new home for ourselves in Thurston County. Since you just went through moving your parents’ household goods across county, can you please tell me what moving company you used . . . and if you were satisfied with them?

    Thanks bunches and I hope to see you soon.

      Hi Barb! No, I just helped set up the West Seattle cheese department. Burien will definitely be my home store. The moving company we used was U-Haul + me, so I can’t be a great resource in recommending something up here. I wish you the best of luck in finding a new home and a decent moving company, though. It was good to see you at the parm-cracking party. 🙂

        Thanks for writing back, Courtney! Glad to hear that you’ll be staying at the Burien store.

        Nancy and I utilized U-Haul to move thirty years ago . . . but gone are those days. We’re interviewing moving companies and will choose one so we’re ready for when we finally find our “forever home” and it’s time to relocate.

        The Parmesan Cheese Cracking Party was interesting and fun — I’m glad I came. I’ll see you the next time we do our grocery shopping ~
